Zambra: novels made of memories
Hi there, today I'm going to tell you about one of my favorite's writers. His name is Alejandro Zambra, a Chilean author born inSantiago in 1975, who has written novels and poetry. He's part of a new generation of Chilean writers, who has written about the post dictatorial Chile and the subjects that appear in the context of a new economic structure (the neoliberalism) and new social relations.
In that context, Zambra is part of the “autofiction” movement, which can be describe as a narrative style based on the memory of the author himself. He takes element of his own life, his childhood and other moments to make a mix between fiction and autobiography. One of the most famous novels of Zambra is “Bonsai”, which narrates -in two different lapses of time- the story of Ana and Julio, two university students that met in Valdivia while they were in college. Bonsai is a short novel about love, reading and suicide, because, as the beginning of the book tells itself, one of the protagonists die at the end of the story. In any way, I think Zambra is a great author to young people, and a would recommended it in case you want to read something “light” but deeply realistic at the same time.
Finally, I think you must have read something interesting during you were in high school so, why don’t you recommend me some interesting novel to read during winter vacations?

It's so important don't forget about our history like country and make something about this. Even I like more fiction I think I can be interested in this kind of books, sometime the reality overcome the fiction.
ResponderEliminarI loved that book. Sometimes I would like to pay 30 mil pesos to drive in no direction too.
